Creating Wealth!

March 30th, 2007 by admin

Creating wealth is a way to gain financial freedom quickly. Based on my understanding of the Rich Dad’s series by Robert Kiyosaki, the rich people create wealth. For example, the rich people start a company and get it listed on the stock exchange. The shares of a start up company are not really valuable. But the company manages to be listed in the stock exchange, the value of the shares suddenly shot up.

Another way to create wealth is writing options. I can write contracts to sell or buy shares at a particular price that is valid for a period of time and sell the contracts for money. In that sense, I am creating money out of a contract.

But exactly what is involved in the process of creating wealth? So far I only know that I can create wealth by starting a company and getting it listed because I read about it. If I do not understand the concept of creating wealth, then there is no way I can be creative to find other ways to create wealth.

When a Structured Settlement is Best

March 30th, 2007 by admin

This article explains a few things about Structured Settlements, and if you’re interested, then this is worth reading, because you can never tell what you don’t know.

Structured settlements are structured cash payments through an annuity system that is established to compensate injury victims for their losses. Structured settlements are the other alternative payment system to a lump sum cash settlement and are set up to provide payments to you over time.

Structured settlements received special legislative treatment by the U.S. Congress in 1982, as a way to make large settlements more agreeable to parties and provide certain protection to victims. As a result, many people now choose a structured settlement agreement over a lump sum distribution, and courts often award them in civil actions where there will be long-term costs of living and the necessity for obtaining cash payments at some point in the future.
Under a structured settlement, the victim will receive compensation over an extended period of time (often a lifetime) instead of a large single payment. The structured settlement is a way of protecting the victim from economic loss and hardship, while also making the payout more palatable to the defendant.

Sharpen Your Debt Management Skill

March 30th, 2007 by admin

No matter what type of problem you are facing it helps to get the facts and concentrate on them. Having too much debt is no exception to this rule. It would be a good first step to figure out whom you owe, how much money you owe them and what the monthly payments and interest rates are. It is time to sharpen your debt management skill.

You would not believe the number of people who are in over there head and do not really know how much interest they are paying each month. Perhaps this is because they really do not have a lot of debt management skill and also because they do not want to find out the truth.

Getting on solid ground with your finances starts with figuring out what is right and what is wrong with your bills. If you are paying big bucks in interest each month it is essential you know this so something can be done. Many people are paying a large percentage of their take home pay in interest. Anything you pay cash for has no interest attached. This is a wise move toward financial freedom.

Top 7 Ways to Reduce Income Taxes

March 30th, 2007 by admin

Are you paying too much in income taxes? Are you getting all the credits and deductions you are entitled to? Here are 7 tips to help you minimize taxes and keep more in your pocket:

1. Participate in company retirement plans. Every dollar you contribute will reduce your taxable income and thus your income taxes. Similarly, enroll in your company’s flexible spending account. You can set aside money for medical expenses and day care expenses. This money is “use it or lose it” so make sure you estimate well!

2. Make sure you pay in enough taxes to avoid penalties. Uncle Sam charges interest and penalties if you don’t pay in at least 90% of your current year taxes or 100% of last year’s tax liability.

Which Stock to Buy?

March 30th, 2007 by admin

Before we need to know which stock to buy, we need to know the fundamental of an individual companies and how they perform in terms of revenue, profits, assets, and borrowing.

It is important to know about all these as the company’s share price is ultimately the market’s reflection of how valuable that company is. If a company is making profits and these profits are growing year on year, with borrowings contained to low levels and revenues also growing, then is an ideal company to invest in, provided we expect the company to continue growing at such levels.

Plan Retirement Early!

March 30th, 2007 by admin

If I want to gain financial freedom way before retirement age or latest at the age of retirement, I need to accumulate enough wealth to achieve the lifestyle that I want. This requires planning as gathered from the Rich Dad’s series by Robert Kiyosaki. If I want to be cautious, I feel that I should have two plans.

The first plan is to plan for retirement. The second plan is to plan to retire way before the age of retirement. This is because in case the second plan fails, I still have the first plan to fall back to. In the worst scenario, I will gain financial freedom at the retirement age.

In order to implement the first plan, I need to embark on the journey to research on retirement planning. After studying and reading a lot on retirement planning, I realize that retirement planning should be done as early as possible in my life. Why?

Car Leasing

March 30th, 2007 by admin

Many people wonder if car leasing is right for them. Before you make a decision about leasing or buying cars, you should know something about leasing cars and how the process works.

Leasing cars means that you are going to pay the amount the cars depreciate during the time you are in control of them. When you are leasing cars, you do not own them, and when you turn them back in, you will have, in theory, paid for the value that you used. The difference between the value of the vehicles when they were new and the value at the end of the car-leasing contract is called depreciation, and depreciation determines how much leasing cars will cost you.

What is unique about leasing cars is that different cars have different rates of depreciation, which means they are have different leasing costs. American cars, for instance, tend to have a higher rate of depreciation than cars of European and Japanese makes. This means that if you are going to lease a car, you might want to look for a foreign-made model if you want to save some money.

March 30th, 2007 by admin

Although banks usually provide efficient services, they may sometimes commit transactional errors that can have a negative affect on your bank balance. If you suspect that there has been a mistake, you need to take it up with your bank as soon as possible. However, following certain standard procedures will help you to resolve the problem, without affecting your existing relationship with the bank.

Banking disputes can arise due to various reasons, which are mostly technical in nature, and can usually be settled amicably. For example, an installment payment could be wrongly deducted from your account before the due date, or the bank incorrectly charging you a penalty fee, or incorrect balance calculations, and the like. Sometimes disputes may also occur due to human error by the bank employees. Disputes like these can be settled agreeably by following the procedures given below:
